Timeshare Maintenance
What does your maintenance payment do?
Quite simply it keeps your resort operational. It covers items
from light bulbs to washer and dryer replacements, landscaping,
security, and many other items. Some resorts charge a slightly
higher maintenance fee each year, and set aside some money for large
scale improvements and repairs. Some resorts keep their
maintenance low, then every so often they have a Special Assessment to
cover repairs considered beyond the norm. It's a good thing to
know what your resort does, but they are both effective techniques.
We
always encourage our buyers to pay maintenance fees on time as
requested. By doing so your resort will benefit.
If you purchased a unit from
Timeshare Gems you might have been asked to pay the Maintenance or a
Special Assessment as a part of that purchase. We do this to
make sure that maintenance and fees are current from the start of your
relationship with that resort. This is the best way to ensure a
happy timeshare experience.
When you bank your week, RCI and
Interval check with your resort to make sure the maintenance is paid
up before allowing you to bank your week. This helps to maintain
the integrity of the timesharing experience. Remember; if you
plan to exchange your week you do so hoping the owners of that resort
have stayed current with their maintenance so it will be in top shape
when you arrive there. Please give the same courtesy to your
resort.
