Building
A Timeshare Portfolio - Pt. 2
Buy Resorts You Love
Never overlook resorts you've exchanged for and loved. These
are resorts you know and know what to expect. Ask friends who
also timeshare which resorts they like the most.
Visit Resorts
If you're staying at Westgate Vacation Villas, you are close to
probably 50 timeshares. Anytime you are traveling to a new
destination, why not visit a few resorts. If you do it at the
right time you might find resort personnel willing and able to give
you some inside scoop about their resort, both positive and negative
facts can affect your decision, remember?
Use Bonus Weeks And Escapes
RCI, Interval International, Fairfield and many other resort
organizations have Bonus, Escape or similar last minute weeks you can
book for a reduced fee. Take advantage of these weeks to explore
new areas. A week used in the off season at many resorts can let
you explore things without the season level crowds.
Banked Weeks
I just finalized a reservation to go to Lake Havasu, Arizona. I
had a banked week with Interval International and they had a week
available for only a $121.00 exchange fee. One week in a 5 Star
resort for only $121.00. Rooms rent for more than that per
night. I'm going to explore the whole area, take some pictures
of the different resorts, and see what I can of the local sites.
That way I'll know first hand if I ever want to own a timeshare in
Lake Havasu.
Set A Budget
Even if it's only a guideline, try to set some budgetary standards for
your purchases. If you decide you want a Week 13 at Westgate
Vacation Villas and your maximum price is $4,000, you should be able
to buy a unit for that. But, Week 13 is a very active Spring
Break Week, so this is a popular week with families and might cost you
more. Knowing your budget will allow you to know if it's right
for you when you see a resort advertised or presented to you.
Timesharing can give you numerous vacations in excellent resorts while
allowing you to plan up front for your costs.
Build Your Portfolio At Your
Budget And Pace
Just because you want a new timeshare doesn't mean you have to buy
it this week. Buy what is right for you and your family.
