Building Your
Timeshare Portfolio
Plan it out
We have several clients that have just bought their fourth timeshare
from us, so we thought we'd dig a little deeper into the details of
building a timeshare portfolio. Building your timeshare
portfolio is one place where advance planning helps. We're going
to look at several all important areas; your vacation plans, your
budget and your travel dreams.
Your Vacation Plans
First, let's ask some important questions;
-
How much do you vacation every
year? Be realistic about the amount of time you vacation.
Will it increase or decrease? Is it flexible or static?
-
Where do you like to vacation?
-
How many people do you have to
plan the vacation for?
-
Do you like variety or
consistency?
-
Do you want to stay in a timeshare
every vacation or only some vacations?
-
Are you able to plan travel months
in advance or do you mainly travel at the last minute?
-
Are you looking for vacations you
can drive to, fly to, or a combination?
Let's say you have three weeks
vacation each year and like to travel for two of those weeks.
One Warm Vacation and one ski vacation each year. Your family of
4 likes variety but has also been known to return to vacation spots
you really loved. You've promised the kids that they can each
bring a friend along on one vacation a year. For budgetary
reasons your family has decided that timesharing is the best way for
you to enjoy excellent accommodations in resorts you want to travel
to, while allowing you to do some financial planning. With
timesharing you can control your vacation costs.
Work With a Timeshare
Reseller
Many of us in the Timeshare Resales business are happy to help someone
find the right timeshares for their needs. Those needs include
tradability, maintenance costs, quality of the resort, and many other
factors. If you simply answer the seven questions above and give
those answers to your reseller, you can help the process immensely.
We want to help you buy a timeshare.
Hunt on EBay
I've been emailing a guy name Charles for close to a year now.
He's been hunting on eBay for just the perfect resort, perfect price,
etc. Because he's looking for perfection he's having a hard
time, and has yet to buy a timeshare. You see, one of the
perfect ingredients to Charles is a price so low it makes everyone
want to own that resort. He's willing to troll on eBay week
after week, hoping that he places a bid then no one else ever sees the
unit and he wins it. you can do this, especially if you're
looking for the bargain of the century. But usually your
friendly Timeshare Reseller can help you find the right resort within
your price range or close to it.
Lockout Units
Lockout or Lockoff Units are considered by many people to be the best
values in timesharing, and if you're truly building a timeshare
portfolio we'd suggest you consider buying a
lockout unit. Why? Because you buy one timeshare and you pay
maintenance on that one timeshare. But you have at least three
options for banking your timeshare. Bank one half, bank the
other half, bank both halves as one big unit.
For example. We have a
3 Bedroom lockout timeshare at Westgate Town Center, a 5 Star
Resort close to Walt Disney World. This timeshare unit is a 3 Bedroom,
2 Bathroom
lockout . It can be banked as:
You get the point. It gives
you flexibility. Use the 2 Bedroom unit for the 4 people in the
family. Use the 1studio as an exchange with RCI or Interval
International for you and your wife to take a romantic week all by
yourselves. All for one maintenance fee!
More Information
Hopefully this helps you a little bit. Building your
timeshare portfolio can be great fun for the entire family. You
can spends hours and days researching the numerous excellent resorts
available, or you might already know the ones you want and can tell
your reseller what you would like to buy. Either way, we hope
this has helped. Feel free to email us specific questions.
